Description

Edit 1/11/26: I've updated the model to include a version that accommodates the stock Breville portafilter and to add an accessories box that includes spaces for more puck screens as well as vertical slots for brushes.

I created this model after wanting a better approach to storing my espresso gear. I especially wanted a gear station that I could change or upgrade as I upgrade my tools, without having to reprint the entire station. I also wanted a station that I could customize and change over time.

This station is fully modular, with 2 large boxes and 4 smaller boxes. The station also has a removable front plate that can be printed using any design you'd like. I've included a design I made based on work by M.C. Escher as well as a blank front panel for you to use to design your own front panel. In the future I intend to swap the front panel based on the season. If you'd prefer a minimalist front, you can turn the station around and use the blank side as your front.

All boxes are sized for Breville compatible tools, based on a 54 mm portafilter. I've created boxes to hold:

  • A standard 54 mm portafilter
    • The portafilter box is design to hold the portafilter level on its own as well as with the dosing funnel attached (for using the WDT tool)
    • Edit 1/11/26: There are two versions of the model, one for a bottomless portafilter and one for the stock Breville portafilter
  • Dosing funnel (54 mm from FIRJOY)
  • WDT (a modified version of the Umikot design I created: https://makerworld.com/en/models/886866#profileId-842304)
  • Distributor (53 mm from Apexstone)
  • Tamper (53.3 mm from Normcore)
  • Puck screen (53.3 from Normcore) and thermometer.
    • Edit 1/11/26: There is now an additional version that includes 2 more puck screen slots plus slots for 2 brushes for cleaning

I also included 5 TPU feet (taken from here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/29448#profileId-542653) and holes for the feet on the bottom of the box (entirely optional but I found these helpful for stability).

Please leave comments or suggestions for future improvements. Very happy to make adjustments that would be helpful to others!

For printing, I recommend:

  • Infill: Grid
  • Infill percentage: 15 (I tested as low as 5% with no issues but 25% is required for ironing to work well, at least on my machine)
  • Supports only needed for the station itself. They are otherwise not needed, the front panel dovetail slots print fine without support
  • Support on build plate only: On
  • If you have an AMS, the dosing funnel, tamper, distributor and puck screen boxes can be printed with a secondary color for the majority of the box; this is useful if you're trying to minimize use of the visible filament or have other kinds of filament you are trying to use up. If you take this approach, you can color everything below 52 mm whatever color you want and it will not be visible.
