Description

My first sword for the dummy 13!

Get your local knight, scoundrel or barbarian his 2 hander today!

This model requires glue.

I've used “super glue”. But I know that ordinary white glue for wood also works well with PLA. Basically, pick a glue that fits the material, and your willingness for sticky fingers. :) Only a few drops are required.

About printing:

  • AMS - I've made it with AMS - but kept the parts that made sense on separate plates to keep purge to an absolute minimum. (it only changes color once on blade parts - the other parts never change)
  • No AMS system? - No problem! Just remove the extra filament colors and it will print like normal. - Even added a non-AMS pre-setup profile now. Just change filament to get different colors between plates.
  • Using 1 color for the whole thing? - Combine plate 1 and 2 to save a few minutes.
  • Hilt needs to be on a seperate plate, it's set to vase mode, so please leave it as such. :)

Assembly:

There are many ways, but I prefer it like this with superglue:

  1. Slide the 2 unglued blade halves through the guard, and into the hilt (with a drop of glue in hilt).
  2. Gently hold the blade halves open, and use a few drops of glue in between and let them close again.
  3. Try to get glued together fingers off sword. :D

Doubt anyone needs the instructions with pictures, but here goes! - shown with non-AMS version.

Hope you have fun with this, let me know if anything unforseen comes up - I've done a lot of adjusting to make sure there is enough slack (thats also why the hilt is a vase mode), but with so many different filaments there are never any guarantees.

If you like it, maybe you'd like some of my other dummy 13 accessories - these are all helmets I made:
