Description

Another design born from frustration……

I love the A1 but getting the bed plate aligned well is annoying, well it was for me. As I pushed the plate to engage the back of the bed the heated bed would move and alignment was pot luck! So I designed a grip tab that allows you to hold the bed in place as you apply the textured sheet.

This mod requires one additional part, a M3 x 10mm hex screw.

You do this mod at your own risk! It should be very simple and having used on my own printer I've had no issues. You're simply replacing the bed screw at the front centre with a slightly longer one to accommodate the printed part.

This goes without saying but please power of the printer and unplug. Use the 2mm hex to remove the screw in the bed. The part then fixes in place with the M3 x 10mm screw. Do not over tighten, it should snug up and feel tight. I've allowed a slight tolerance for printing so it may wobble ever so slightly left and right once installed but we're talking next to nothing. It's like this should have always been there!

My design echos the style of the printer.

A shout out to Ocular Dynamic for his Bambu Lab logo. I used that as a negative in the part to emboss the logo.

Once the part is printed, clear out the hole from the other side with your screw. Then simply fix in place and enjoy easy bed plate alignment.

Feedback welcome….

Thanks.

EDIT: I've rotated the BL logo 180 as realised it was upside down.
