Magnetic Levitation DIY Kit - ZC008

Description

A floating Delorean

I was intrigued by this idea when I first saw the Magnetic Levitation DIY Kit in the store. I had also wanted to realize a toonified model of the Delorean for a long time and so it was clear that both wishes would fit together perfectly.

I realized the whole project to the best of my ability and tried to design it in such a way that it could also be copied by others. Here and there there may be small irregularities, but I have tried to explain it as well as possible in the attached instructions and hope that there are few problems.

It was not easy to implement this idea and I would like to emphasize that small differences may occur here and there due to different settings or filaments. I made an effort to try everything out until it worked for me. Unfortunately, this does not mean that it will be the same for everyone. However, I also explain here how you can at least use a few little tricks here and there to solve small problems.

Tools

You only need a standard tool for processing.

  • Cutter Knife
  • file for sanding or sandpaperfile
  • superglue is
  • fine pliers

The Base

Let's start with the base, which is still quite easy to implement. Printed in PETG HF, as the coil can get quite warm if you make a mistake. You should definitely stop after a few failed attempts and let everything cool down first.

The rest is all in the assembly instructions

What a great idea for a print 😀 Printed in PETG 👍 Placing it on the levitation base is extremely tricky without having taped the levitation unit in the model down. A simple locking feature may make this easier.

Thanks for trying out and showing ☺️ With regard to an auxiliary construction for the centring, that didn't really work well for me, so I left it out.

Super! It's a shame the tabs for attaching the top and bottom with the wheels aren't present on the underside I had to use double-sided tape to secure the two parts and it's a little noticeable But otherwise, super and it works very well with the levitation kit 👍

Thanks for trying it out and showing it, but above all thanks for the feedback regarding the missing connectors. I made a mistake there, sorry for that. I have corrected it and hope that everything fits now.

Thank you for modifying the base! I reprinted it and took the opportunity to use transparent plastic for the windshield and windows 👍

Excellent design. Printed very well with very few hiccups. Especially on the windshield pillars and windshield in clear PETG. Other than that no problems.
