Camera chin mount Alpinestar SM5

As you may see, the camera is upside down, so check if you're camera has that as a feature. 

This camera mount uses 3xM3x20mm screws, 3xM3 Threaded inserts 3xM3 washers and a M5 nut/ 8mm diameter flat to flat side. It's mounted at the ventilation mouth guard on the Alpinestar SM5 Helmet. 

I designed this model for the Action 3 camera but it uses the same measurements as the GoPro mounts. I printed this one out of abs for strength. you're free to use other filaments of course, however i believe PLA is too weak for this. The design is sturdy and fits well. It's designed to have a little gap between the camera screen and helmet for less damage and scratches on the screen. The smooth design is sleek and helps with strength due to lack of weak points.

To get the m3 inserts flat and flush i used this technique. However you can just use the normal soldering tipp at 350°

Important!! If you buy the BamBulab inserts (listed below) there is a different plug for them because they are a little bigger. 

The mounting prosses can be a little bit tricky to get the screws to thread but you will get the hang of it. 

Stepp 1

Insert the Plug inte the slot inside the helmet. The screws will go through the marked holes.

Stepp 2

Place the mount on the front of the helmet and insert the screws with the M3 Washers and screw in the screws.

Stepp 3

Mount the camera with the m5 nut.

Now you are sett.
