Description

This is both my submission for the Year of the Snake contest and a celebration of the announcement of Okami 2.  A sculpture of the dreaded Orochi, an 8-headed serpent god as he appears in my favorite game of all time, Okami.

This is my first completely original 3d printed model!  I sculpted it entirely in Nomad Sculpt and used Bambu Studio for the rest.  The model is very imperfect and assembly required some extra unforeseen steps due to the tolerances being too imprecise for a model so small.  I've learned a ton through this project and I'm excited to hear feedback and advice as I'm just starting my 3d modeling and printing journey.

If you print the model exactly as it was uploaded, you will definitely have trouble assembling it without using glue.  The model is just too small and the key / cuts are not precise enough for things to fit like I originally intended.  Truthfully, I ran out of time to submit this to the New Year contest otherwise I would have printed it larger to test the tolerances at more reasonable sizes.

I recommend printing the single piece shrine instead of the multipart shrine if you're printing at the default size for the same reasons stated above.

I used super glue (Loctite gel) to assemble the model with a little tape to hold things together as the glue dried.
