Description

This is my magic keyboard and trackpad tray that is angled so that both accessories sit flush and act as if they would in a laptop. I personally move around my computer much faster with the trackpad and keyboard setup like this as opposed to the keyboard and mouse setup on a desktop, so I figured why not combine the best of both worlds.

It took me a while to get the printing process right with this one and I'll admit it's still not perfect. You can't print this on the A1 mini, will need a full size bed as it barely fits diagonally and has to be printed upright. There is some wavey artifacting that's happening which if you know how to fix I would love some advice on, otherwise the print comes out overall solid and the accessory has been awesome for me.

I finished the model for the trackpad v2 and cut out cylinders in the spots where the trackpad didn’t fit. It’s not perfect, but it works.

Prints great for a object standing up. Printed at a .08 layer hight. overall great but a few things I’d suggest for a v2 for personal preference. 1. The keyboard sits a little loose, would like a more snug fit or a small rib that it could press fit into. Would love to use it as a lap board on the couch, but it currently slips out if I toss it on the couch when I get up. 2. Unless I have a pen or something small, there is no way I’m reaching the keyboard power button. Not that big of a deal since there is no access to the trackpad power switch either but just a thought. 3. The keyboard has a push out hole feature in the back, would be nice to add for the trackpad for a snug fit. 4. If using at a desk, some inset holes for some rubber feet would be nice. Again, these do not reflect on the rating and only for thoughts of improvement from a user that may use it in a slightly different way than others.

@masonwarner Hi, could you create a design for the Trackpad 2? My Trackpad 2 unfortunately doesn't fit into your design

Great model! I really like it. Even thinking of printing in metal. But I have one concert, it I connect Trackpad via cable to MacBook, the Keyboard becomes wobblier. Maybe it is possible to raise the back of the keyboard? Or somehow to make the cable lower? Other than that, it's a great model! Thanks a lot 🔥🔥🔥

Great design, thanks! Prints well flat on a larger format printer with just a couple tree supports for the top cutouts. Tolerance for the magic keyboard portion is quite forgiving, so I might use some double sided tape along the bottom or create a small retaining clip that uses the charge port cut out as I prefer to store mine upright when not in use :)

May I know what filament is used on the first photo?

Perfect, thanks. I would suggest increasing the wrist rest area to make it wider, as I tend to touch the trackpad often. I am thinking of making it a wood design.

It fits perfectly! As an improvement, you could put some small TPU plugs on the back to prevent it from sliding!

This printed really well. The trackpad fits snug but the keyboard is a tad loose but not loose enough that I’d try to fix and reprint.
