Description

Hanging Spider-Man

This is a different take on light boxes, I believe I am the first person crazy enough to have one hanging. Enjoy the file. I did have 1 failure on Plate 3, made a few adjustments and printed great. Make sure you have a nice clean plate before starting, good adhesion is a must

You can use the profile for plate 1, 2, and 5.

You will need to set print settings for Plate 3

Select .2 standard

Change the following

  • Arachne Walls
  • 20% gyroid infill
  • 4 Wall loops

Enable supports

  • Slim Tree

Other adjustments

  • Outer Brim
  • Reduce AUX fan to 30%

Plate 4

I used .2 Standard

Arachne Walls

Gyroid 15% Infill

Enable Support

  • Tree
  • Slim

After I used some 400 grit sandpaper just to smooth the post that will connect to the stand pipe to get rid of any support leftovers, do not take a lot of material off, literally 1 minute by hand.

Assembly:

I put the top halves of the pipe together first. Superglue along the edges then fit them together. Placed a couple rubber bands around it to hold.

The bottom halves of pipe I did the same, watch for the opening that will be at the bottom for alignment. The halves are different size on purpose to allow a little more surface area for glue.

After you have 2 pipes, I made a connection sleeve that will go halfway in each pipe for final gluing.

Allow this proper time to cure.

I ran my lights down the pipe and out the hole at the bottom, this can be done before gluing the pipe halves together or I used 2 zip ties to use as a fish tape to pull them through. Run into the back of the light box before fitting the lightbox into the pipe. Once all lights were ran, I connected the light box to the pipe. I did not have to use glue but I would recommend doing so.

If you choose to print the Amazing SpiderMan sign, if fits a little loose so definetely use some glue.

Place the front on, light it up, and enjoy

This is a long print and a lot of building after, but the results are well worth it.

If you wish to make this to sell let me know first please. I have been thinking of setting up a Patreon to include sell license but not 100% sure if or when that will be. For now, Enjoy!
