Nightblood From The Cosmere

Bill of Materials
- 3/8'x55'ThreadedRod x 1:
Description
This model is about as accurate as I could model off of pictures and the letter opener and is 5ft (~1.5m) long. The individual pieces are cut to be printed on somthing as small as an A1 mini. The 3mf file contains all the parts on one plate and takes 32 hours to print. If you decide to make your own print profile I would suggest turning on detect thin walls. This will create some artifacts in the final print but they are easily removed. The full sword is meant to be assembled with a 3/8 inch threaded rod that is about 55 inches long. Some threaded rods seem to have some inconsistencies in diameter so it may help to make a test print to check. During assembly the threaded rod should be put in at the bottom of the handle and threaded on until it reaches the end of the part where the next piece is added. Glue should be used on the interfaces of each part but not on the threads (except on the last section of the blade and pommel) the rod should be able to be threaded in by hand without tools. Bondo was used on each of the seams and the whole model was sanded, primed and painted. I will eventually be making a sheath for Nightblood as well.
