Description

A better all-in-one strap, designed specifically for 3d printing's strengths.

Voile Style ski / outdoor strap. I was unhappy with the options currently available, so I made my own. Let me know if you have suggestions for modification. Overall pretty happy with it. You can really yard on the thing and it doesn't break, though the flex with the filament I used is nowhere close to as nice as the standard polyurethane you'd get on a commercial strap.

Length options - 19" & 13" - feel free to request lengths.

Improvements to other designs:

  • Tine has a really nice lock-in on the strap
  • Beefed up buckle
  • Modified tine for lowered stress on the buckle
  • beefed up strap
  • Spiral CAD model allows for printing on ANY printer & easy scalability - let me know if you would like longer or shorter lengths
    • Change spiral turn in increments of 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, etc
  • Single filament - I used TPU HF 95A. I did not like managing multiple prints for a single strap because of different materials for the buckle and strap.

Printing Notes:

  •  I added minimal support for the tine - it is easily removed after print and significantly improves the overhang print; I think I have it dialed in pretty well if you use the suggested settings.
    • Manual, standard support - locate a single point beneath the very end of the tine. That's all you need.
  • 100% infill significantly improves the buckle strength/ bendiness.
