Description

It's a Trash Bag Holder!

I tried a few, but they didn't quite do what I wanted. Some were too short, some were huge, most had a slot that was way too big so when you get to the last few bags they all fall out instead of just 1.

Big Update, I had some time to work on it this week, so I made a few modifications. The basic geometry is unchanged, but the big difference is a recessed snap ring inside the cylinder and a variety of snap in lids.

And also a larger size for bigger trash bags.

The new snap in lids hold strong enough to be placed upside down, if you prefer. I tested a variety of snap ring sizes, I'll upload the profile for all of them in case you want to try a different one. The one that snaps the full circumference of the lid holds the strongest! Although, my favorite is the one with a thumb ramp on the front, and snap in surfaces on the sides.

I printed all these green ones in PETG HF, they turned out great, and are more flexible than PLA. I did one in PLA also, it's slightly snappier, if anything an even more secure hold on the lid. I imagine most filaments will work fine.

Small Size:

.25" Exit Slot for the bags
7 In. Overall Height
2.5 in. Inside Diameter
3 in. (75mm) and 100mm mounting holes
Also added a wide flat area to the back in case doublestick tape is your weapon of choice.

Large Size:

The Same .25" Exit Slot
9-3/8" Overall Height
3.5 in. Inside Diameter
3 in, (75mm) 100mm and 150mm (The hole spacing for shelves on my ikea cabinet is 50mm, so these always line up with a premade hole)
The Same wide flat area on the back for the trusty doublestick tape

Let me know if there's anything that could be improved.

Update: Added cad files for a couple of requested modifications, I'm away from my printer for some months so they are available in the files section.

Go to "Download STL/CAD file. There are two sub groups "download for swifden" and in there you can see the different options.

G'day i tried reducing the height of the item in bambu studio and printed well but now the ribbon on the lid doesn't seat fully. would my changes have reduced the ring in the holder. printed well otherwise. I was hoping to reduce the print in diameter and length for my next two prints as I have 3 x different size bags.

Hey there, yes scaling the whole part down vertically would make the slot smaller, unfortunately. You could try scaling the lid down vertically the same amount you scaled the rest, that may work. The only way to keep the slot unmodified would be to cut the top of the part off & scale the remainder, then reattach. I could also upload a profile with whatever heights you need, if that would be helpful

That would be great. I was looking for the 3.5inch diameter to only be 7"(180cm)tall. Then I was after one 3" diameter with height of 5.5" If that's possible it would be great. I have alot to learn about altering demensions and the software.

love this print. printed two size. one for 13 gallon and one for 30 gallon. the 30 gallon, lid and circumference has to be adjusted.

This was a perfect for the space I needed. I added a clip to the back so I could clip it inside my garage can drawer. Probably the most useful print I made with my printer so far.

I love this so much that I've printed four of them now. I resized two of them for smaller rolls of trash bags. Two are white, one is the very bright pink in the picture, and I'm currently printing one in SUNLU Purple Matte PLA.

Small, 2.5 X 7 in. With SIde Snap Lid

I used standard PLA in black and glued the trash bag dispenser with 3M double sided stripes into one of our kitchen cupboards. We are pretty happy with it. Thumbs up!

Well thought out and sturdy! The 2.5" size is perfect for the bags we use for our smaller trash cans. it's easy to use and sticks well to the cabinet with mounting tape. I'm currently printing a 4" size, slightly modified by scaling/slicing in Bambu Studio, to get an exact fit for the large rolls we buy for our kitchen trash can.

Well Firstly big thankyou to @irony for going above and beyond making me quite a few variants in size. He made me a 3inch x 5.5 tall, 3inch by 6.5 tall a 4 inch version and the biggest by far which I asked could he split in two as I couldn't print it on my A1. He added a locating ring in the cut to assist with gluing the two halves. it is 5inch diameter by 13 inches long. it's hug and for big black garbage bags. I was nervous about printing the top half as only had a thing ring bonding it to print bed but came out perfect 🌟 🌟 🌟
