Description

This is a 12 number version of the game Shut the Box. There are 4 different profiles for 14mm dice or 16mm dice and one or two colors. It all prints in one piece with no supports.

I have added a print profile for 14mm or 16mm dice.  They print at 100% infill and ironing so they have some weight to them.  You can also find dice on Amazon fairly cheap.

Also Available: I now have 9, 10, and 12 number versions of this game available.  Follow me and view all.  I have also create Shut the Box 300 now which goes up to 24!!  https://makerworld.com/en/models/2386022-shut-the-box-300#profileId-2613263

New: I have added a simple case to use to store the game when not in use.  Feedback I had gotten was people love the game, but wish it was easier to transport, so I hope this helps.  It is in a new print profile.

Shut The Box Rules

 ---------------------------

The box starts with all numbers raised and the box "open". The player rolls 2 dice and can either add the dice together to make 1 number, or can split it into any combination of numbers to add up to the sum.
example: If a 5 and a 3 are rolled, the following combinations could be closed:

  • 8
  • 1, 7
  • 2, 6
  • 3, 5
  • 1, 2, 5

The player may only use numbers that are still open. Once they use a number, they close it.

The player continues rolling the dice and closing numbers until they can't close any more numbers and their turn ends. All dice rolled must be used, otherwise their turn is over.

Add the numbers remaining open at the end of the turn. The player with the lowest score wins.
