The Aircraft

F-102 Delta Dagger

Overview:
The Convair F-102 was the first operational supersonic interceptor for the U.S. Air Force, designed to counter Soviet bombers during the Cold War.

Development History:

Factoids:

  • First aircraft to use an integrated fire-control system.
  • Retired in favor of the F-106.

Performance Stats:

  • Top Speed: 810 mph (Mach 1.25)
  • Range: 1,350 miles
  • Service Ceiling: 53,400 feet
  • Armament: 6 AIM-4 Falcon missiles, 24 unguided rockets
