Here is a minor refinement incorporating suggestions from two users. Unfortunately, simultaneous attribution isn't feasible; hence this consolidated mention.
My inspiration was to enhance visibility of the silica gel and incorporate dual side pockets. This empowers users to decide whether to utilize silica gel within the hygrometer, without compromising gel quantity.
I utilize this silica gel, owing to its reusability. Half suffices for AMS desiccation, while the remainder is conveniently regenerated. Stored within its container, the silica gel remains optimally dry and functional.
My recommendations for optimal regeneration:
- Employ a convection oven at 110-130 °C for 90 minutes.
- Allow for brief cooling before returning to its storage container.
- Crucially: Avoid microwave heating!
