Description

I was frustrated that the center G string would always be a little sharp when fretting a note, even if it was in perfect tune. But before I invested in a fancy (and expensive) compensated bridge I thought I would make one I could print. And if it solved the intonation problem on the center G string, I would know it would be a good investment.  As it turns out, this bridge is not that bad.  It is about twice the weight of a wooden bridge, so the tone is a little darker and the volume is a little less.  But I have performed with one of these and it did OK.

I went through 7 or 8 prototypes to develop this version.  I have included two models in this profile.  One has 100% infill and will be the stronger of the two.  The second one has heavy walls and 0% infill, which takes about 6 grams off the weight. I have created a video to show you how to easily change your banjo bridge.  (When you check your tuning at the 12th fret, if the note is sharp, move the bridge to lengthen your strings.  If the note is flat, move the bridge to shorten your strings.  If the note is perfect at the 12th fret, you got it!)

I have printed these in both PLA and PETG.  I prefer the PETG model.  I hope to try to make it lighter and print it with carbon reinforced filament in the future.
