Description

The class 751 motor locomotive (until 1988 T 478.1) is a box four-axle diesel-electric locomotive with a Bo´ Bo´ layout. In operation, she is nicknamed Cloudy or Bardotka (more details below). This is one of the most successful locomotives that left the gates of the Prague locomotive factory ČKD. It produced them in the years 1964–1971. The locomotive has electric DC power transmission. The maximum permitted speed of the locomotive is 100 km/h, the continuous traction force of the locomotive is 120 kN, the maximum is 220 kN. The weight of the locomotive is 75 tons. In the 1990s, some locomotives of this series had their steam train heating equipment replaced by electric train heating equipment and the locomotives were re-designated as the 749 series.
