Squid Game Button Fidget Gonggi Game
Print Profile(2)

Description
Squid Game – Fidget Button: Recreating the gonggi game (a Korean game involving tossing and catching small stones with one hand) featured in Squid Game’s second season – a game we played as children using small sandbags or stones. A true-to-size and gameplay replica feels somewhat monotonous, as many fellow Makers have already created it. I felt this design would lend itself well to a fidget button, so I created this model. Unexpectedly, I gained additional insights, learning about multi-color per-part printing, adjusting print order, and arranging prints to optimize print speed and increase purge volume to prevent color bleeding.
Individual print time is approximately 35 minutes. Plates 06-07 are a 5-color combined print (2.5 hours total), and plates 01-05 are individual 5-color prints (3 hours total).
Switch:
The model does not include mechanical keyboard switches; these must be purchased separately. You can find inexpensive ones on Taobao or Pinduoduo. If you are unfamiliar with switches, I recommend choosing a linear switch. It is advisable to use switches without dust guards.

Installation:
1. Please trim off the four long, thin tabs inside the cover.
2. Please note the installation direction. The cross-shaped structure has a longer side, corresponding to the longer side of the switch. It is recommended to not install the base initially. First assemble and test the top cover and switch; ensure it can spring back before attaching it to the base.
3. If the size is slightly off, gently enlarge or fill the hole. If it remains unsatisfactory, adjust the parameters to compensate; apologies for any inconvenience.

⚠️Parameters and Arrangement:
I. Standard Version – Configuration:
One set per plate, layer-by-layer printing, printable via mobile app.
II. Lazy Version – Configuration – Time-Saving (Do not use mobile app printing; manual purge volume setting required):
1.Purge Volume Multiplier 1 (⚠️Important⚠️ Requires manual setting! Do not forget to set this!) Because “per-part” printing does not enable the wipe tower, color bleeding is highly likely, therefore, additional purge is added.

2. Plates 06-07 are a 5-color combined print (2.5 hours total), and plates 01-05 are individual 5-color prints (3 hours total), set for “per-part” printing. To save time, I recommend using plates 06-07, completing the print in just two runs.

3. Optional: Comparison of the effect of different settings on print time; for those interested.
1) 4-color per-plate, per-part printing. To minimize the number of times I needed to harvest filament (as AMS can only print up to 4 colors per plate), printing these 3 models together using layer-by-layer printing would take more than 8 hours with 213 filament changes, leading to significant time and material waste. However, using per-part printing only requires 1.5 hours and 6 changes; substantially saving time and material. Make sure the plate arrangement doesn't interfere with the print and doesn't generate errors.
2) Per-part printing does not utilize a wipe tower, leading to residue of the previous filament within the extruder. Therefore, it is crucial to increase the purge volume to prevent color bleeding as noted above, otherwise, the print may result in a faded or absent top white pattern, differing significantly from the intended result.

3) Per-part printing: printing same color before mixed colors: In per-part printing mode, the model's top-down arrangement determines the print order. In the image below, the base is on top and the cover is at the bottom; the base will be printed first. Since the cover is multi-colored, printing the cover before the base would require an additional color change. Therefore, prioritizing the base (single color) before the cover (multi-colored) saves more time and material.
