  • Cotton swab x 1:

Description

A bobbin holder for your fly fishing flies, easy to print and easy to make !

What you need :

  • Glue
  • One cotton swab with an hollow plastic rod (outer diameter of 3 mm max)

1.Print all the parts at 0.1 resolution ( because of the screwed parts which require a great printing precision.).
2.Remove the cotton from a cotton swab and cut both ends to obtain a rod about 55 mm long.
3.Glue the cotton swab rod into the object named "tube".
4.Glue the object named "Loft" with the object named "Bobin holder".
5.Glue the object named "Tube" with the objet named "Bobin holder".
6.Enjoy !

EDIT : I've added a washer (object named “spacer”) if you have short coils. Just print it (profile available) and add it between the coil and the disc before the screw.

No supports required !

Thank you. Excellent model. One minor issue: the cylinder length isn't quite right for my spool size, so I made a few modifications (I've uploaded the print profile).

These are brilliant, thank you for designing and sharing these. For a long time I've wanted to have a selection of fancy bobbins but when it comes to paying for them I always back out and get the brass pinchy claw ones. I printed these out of ABS and they word extremely well. I don't know what the moaner up there is whinging about these are tremendous!

hello I didn't understand this point: 1. Print all parts at a resolution of 0.1 (due to the threaded parts requiring high printing precision). I have a Bambu Lab A1. Should I increase the size percentage?

Hello, These comments are for people using .STL files without going through the already prepared print profiles. As a Bambulab A1 user, you just need to click on prepare print on your phone or on makerworld if you are on your pc, choose the first print profile containing all the parts and everything should go smoothly, you don't have to change the size of the objects. You have nothing more to do Was that the meaning of your question?

Little needs to be said, they are simply spacers, therefore a perfect print
