Description

NO AMS AND NO GLUE REQUIRED, Use 80% scale for A1 mini

Please Read Printing Tips

Meet the MeowMate: Cat-inspired headphone stand or desktop companion you'll ever need! Whether it's holding your headphones or simply sitting adorably on your desk, this multi-functional model is designed to bring charm and utility to your space.

The MeowMate is available in two unique versions:

  1. Model 1: Straightforward and easy to print, featuring monochrome black eyes and multiple customizable cat colors.
  2. Model 2 (Great for pause technique, NO AMS): A slightly more detailed version with options for multi-color eyes and highlights, allowing you to create a personalized design that pops out more with color.

The model is printed in multiple parts for ease of customization and assembly. All parts fit snugly together, ensuring a secure structure. If the support rod is printed vertically, it may feel slightly loose during assembly, but a simple twist of the cat’s face once assembled will tighten the support beam for a tight fit.

The Model scales well down to 50% for use as a display piece or companion, but for hanging headphones, a scale of 80% or higher is strongly recommended for stability and functionality.

Printing Tips

I’m still a beginner in the world of 3D printing, but after some testing, here are my recommendations for good results:

  1. Scaling: The model scales well down to 50%, but if you plan to hang headphones, avoid going below 80% to ensure structural integrity.
  2. Color Customization:
    • No Automatic Material System (AMS) is required! You can achieve up to 3 colors for Model 2 (cat face, black borders and fillets, and eye color) using the pause and swap filament technique.
  3. Infill Recommendation: Use at least 15% infill for a strong and stable print. If you lower this value be warn that when printing some defects may appear in the eyes and face.
  4. Supports:
    • I recommend using tree organic supports as they are easier to remove without damaging the print. For the cat's face, I suggest using a scriber tool to carefully poke holes at the support's base and gently pry them up. Once loosened, the supports should slide out smoothly. Alternatively, you can simply increase the Z-distance of the supports for easier removal.
    • While I believe it’s possible to print the cat’s face without supports, I have not tested this option at full scale, so proceed with caution if attempting it.
    • If you scale the model down to 60~40%, you can print it without supports, but this depends on your printer’s capabilities ( I Used bambu A1)

  5. Support Beam Printing:
    • Print the support beam vertically if you want to avoid the need for supports. While this increases print time, it saves post-processing effort and results in a cleaner finish. However, if you prefer to print the beam horizontally and have a scriber tool, removing the supports will be much easier.

Thank you so much for choosing to print my design! Your support means a lot, and I hope the MeowMate brings a touch of fun and functionality to your space.

I’d love to see your finished creation, so please leave a review and include a picture! I’m especially curious to see the unique color combinations you’ve chosen to bring this little cat to life. Your feedback is invaluable—if you find any flaws in the design or have suggestions for improvement, please don’t hesitate to share them.

Lastly, if you have any tips or tweaks for optimizing the print profile, I’d greatly appreciate it. Every piece of advice helps me grow as a designer and refine my models for the community.

Happy printing, and enjoy your new cat companion! 🐾
