Description

This is a 3D map of the centre of Edinburgh. I could not find any online (without paying) so I had to make my own.

The source for the data is openstreetmap.org so please check their license terms if you intend to use this for commercial purposes. I used the touch-mapper project to generate the STL files.

There is no topographic information in the map, sadly, only the street data. I've included the STL files, so, if somebody is skilled enough to bake the elevation data into the map, it would be amazing if you share it. Sadly I'm just new to this hobby and I'm still not skilled enough to do it myself, but I think the map still looks great without elevation.

The map must be printed with a 0.2 mm hot-end. If you attempt to slice it with a 0.4 hot-end (or bigger) it will probably generate artifacts.

I printed it with a Bambu Lab “Matte Ash Grey” (11102) filament, in case somebody is interested.

The print is split in 9 parts. It should work with a Bambu Lab A1 Mini, but I've only tested with the A1. There is a bigger version but I'm not sure if it will fit in the P1S/P or X1, it definitely fits in the A1 but I believe the higher-end printers use part of the build plate for flow calibration.
