Mini Prism Pod
Print Profile(1)

Description
I had a control Point set on a stump on the edge of an embankment (see picture) in a bit of an awkward spot, So I spent some time in fusion and came up with this mini-prism holder that allowed you to level a mini prism over a tough spot hands-free.
I have great results with it BUT it's not perfect so I wanted to release the model to the survey & 3d modeling community so they could edit/remix it to suit their needs. I would love to see what projects you use it on I plan to refine it more to my liking come winter so I will release another with smoother threads a smaller footprint and maybe some sort of lock to keep the prism from slipping over time (I use rubber bands looped underneath currently)
I printed the body in PLA with over 50% infill for stability and weight.
The threaded pegs were printed slowly with several walls with grid infill in PETG I found the combo of PETG and PLA allowed the threads to spin more smoothly but my original prototype was just straight PLA for testing and it worked great doing a closed traverse around a building tooto set Laser Scanning control.
Happy Editing / Printing / Surveying Geo Gang
Cheers!
