wind vane
Print Profile(1)

Description
This file is a simple weather vane consisting of 5 different parts: the pointer, the support shaft, a 608 RS bearing, the disc, and the mounting base.
A small amount of glue may be needed between the various parts to hold them firmly together (be careful not to let glue get into the bearing balls and seize it!). The mounting base features holes for securing it with zip ties (tire ups). It has a nominal internal diameter of 22mm, but it can be tightened or opened slightly more.
The tail fin has zero lift, so the pointer will face exactly in the direction of the wind. If necessary, you can spray the bearing with a little oil. The shaft between the bearing and the pointer should be positioned as shown in the image, with the 'V' facing upwards. Also, due to its slight taper, the bearing must first be inserted from the side with the 'V', and then the shaft should be fitted into its seat on the pointer.
