Description

I present to you a sliding cover for a power button or a motion-detecting light switch. The need to model such a cover arose because of flies that turned on my light at night when flying under the switch. 🪰😒

The recess can accommodate a button with a diameter of 24 mm or a rectangular button with dimensions of 24 x 27 mm. The 3mf file contains two plates, one option is with a filled closed side, the other remains empty.

Currently, the groove and tongue are positioned in such a way that it works best by allowing the cover to lock gravitationally, but it should have a good enough fit to lock in the reverse orientation as well.

The orientation for printing should be the same as in the 3mf file, due to tolerances and grooves, otherwise the cover may not slide!

The filled-in version is ideal for applying double-sided tape. I recommend something like transparent “nano tape,” which sticks firmly but is easy to remove from furniture or plastic surfaces.

I used bamboo PLA support material as the support interface, but you can also use PETG or PLA.

I am open to comments and feedback! 🤗
