Magic Coin Plate – Coin Multiplication Trick

Effect:
The magician shows an empty plate from all sides, then places a few coins onto it. After covering it with a cloth and saying a magic word, the plate is tilted—and mysteriously, more coins appear than were originally placed!

Secret & Preparation:
Before the performance, a few identical coins are secretly inserted into a hidden slot at the bottom of the plate. This slot is designed to hold the coins flat and out of sight when the plate is shown.

Instructions for Use

You will need:

• The Magic Coin Plate with the hidden slot
• Several identical coins
• A small cloth or napkin

Preparation:

1. Insert a few coins into the slot underneath the plate before the performance. These will be the "appearing" coins.
2. Practice holding the plate in a way that naturally covers the slot with your fingers when showing it to the audience.

Performance:

1. Show the plate openly from all sides, tilting and turning it to demonstrate it's "empty." Keep your fingers over the slot to hide it.
2. Place a few visible coins (e.g., two) onto the center of the plate.
3. Cover the plate with the cloth, pretending to concentrate magical energy.
4. Say a magic word or phrase to add flair to the trick.
5. While holding the plate and the cloth together with one hand, subtly tilt the plate so that the hidden coins slide out of the slot into your free hand—hidden under the cloth.
6. Reveal the "extra" coins to the audience as if they magically multiplied!

Tips:

• Keep your movements smooth and natural.
• Practice the coin release motion so it happens cleanly and silently.
• Use distraction (speech, gestures) during key moments to keep attention away from the method.
