Benchytanic

Description
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the legendary 3D printing torture test Benchy, I decided to give it a dramatic (and slightly tragic) makeover. Enter the Benchytanic — a remix that splits the cheerful little tugboat right down the middle, in true Titanic fashion.
For those who don’t know, the original Benchy isn’t just a cute boat — it’s one of the most popular 3D printer calibration models in the world. Designed to test dimensional accuracy, overhangs, bridging, surface finish, and more, it’s a compact and cleverly detailed print that quickly reveals the strengths and weaknesses of any 3D printer setup.
But after a decade of seeing it float around print beds everywhere, I thought: what if this boat had a rougher voyage?
The Benchytanic keeps the iconic shape but adds a clean (and ironically catastrophic) break in the middle, evoking a story of printer drama or a filament iceberg that couldn’t be avoided. It’s equal parts homage, humor, and heartbreak — perfect for marking ten years of Benchy history with a smile and a wince.
Print it, share it, and let your Benchy go down in style.
