DIY Modular Server Rack – Homelab [WIP]

This design is custom; however, I've tried to make this as plug&play as possible with 10in rack mount designs.

  • 9.5mm square holes for mounting studs. Tested with other random M6 square mount (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3499085)
  • 9.5 in spacing between center holes – shelf only
    • shelf dimensions dictate this, modify to liking
    • interior spacing of holes from front to back is 8in → fully build rack would have 9.5in spacing in front/back and 6.25in spacing on sides
  • corner piece designed to have square mounting hole on 2 faces → provides 4 faces to rack for more modularity
  • studs/screws designed as M6, fit snuggly, do not over tighten screws (I've broken 1)
    • Tighten with flat head
    • 15mm screw, for room to add face plates
  • Using 1/4in wooden dowels (48in dowel = ~$0.70)

Still a work in progress, happy to make adjustments, still testing fit with other 10in rack designs found.
