Description

We've all seen this before, on Youtube, Amazon, Taobao, etc. But every time I do, I don't know about you guys, but I've always wanted a tornado machine myself. But every time I go on amazon to find one, I nearly faint when I see the price: 20-30 USD. Like, no offense, but a tornado machine is just a DC motor spinning the water inside a clear cylindrical water container, how expensive would that be to make. So, now that I have a 3D printer, tens of DC motors and a passion for CAD design, I thought, why not make one myself. Like, how hard could it be, you just need a base to store the motor, magnets and a cup.

So after a month of hard work on CAD, prototyping and testing, I present to you a 70% 3D printed tornado machine. And instead of charging you any money for my hard work and your 30 dollar Amazon savings, I'm offering these files for you for free (Assuming that you have a 3D printer, since why are you on Crealitycloud then?), so, your welcome. Now, back to the actually design of this tornado machine. Instead of using a rotor to spin the water at high speeds, because that method would require waterproofing that is impossible with 3D printing, I'm using magnets to spin the water. This works because the magnets in the cup are repelling the spinning magnets connected to the motor, this makes both sets of magnets spin and is just enough to create a tiny tornado inside your cup (It's so mesmerizing).

I'd recommend putting this 69x95x150mm 3D printed tornado machine by your desk, acting as a cool desk accessory, but in reality, you could put it anywhere in your house as decor and it'll look just as cool. So once again, no need to thank this twelve year old random kid for saving you so much time to design this yourself and saving 30 dollars, so pls no hate :)

This model requires a motor. Please purchase one here:

This model also requires at least 6 12x3mm magnets. Please buy them here:

It is recommend to superglue magnet compartment 1 to the motor for a secure fit and using double sided tape, as well as superglue to stick the seperating thingy onto the plastic cup.

Lastly, please also follow the given images to assemble the tornado machine.
