☄️ What Is a Meteor? (The Cosmic Drama Queen)

A meteor is basically a tiny space rock with a big attitude.
Most of the time it’s just floating around, minding its business — until it spots Earth and suddenly goes:

💥 “WATCH THIS AMAZING ENTRANCE!”

It then zooms through the sky so fast it catches on fire, creating that bright streak we call a shooting star. (Which is funny, because it’s not a star. It’s more like a space pebble showing off.)
 

🦖 How a Meteor Helped End the Dinosaur Party

About 66 million years ago, a really, really big meteor — much bigger than any 3D coaster-sized version — crashed into what is now Mexico.

If you could interview it, the dinosaurs would probably say:

“Worst surprise guest in history.”

The meteor hit Earth with the force of billions of nuclear bombs.
The result?

🌋 Massive tsunamis
🌫 Dust clouds blocking sunlight
❄️ Global cooling
🌽 Plants dying = herbivores dying = carnivores VERY unhappy

And just like that, the dinosaur era came to an abrupt “nope.”

Long before dinosaurs, back when Earth was still young and cranky, a Mars-sized object smashed into it.

Scientists call this mystery planet Theia, but it’s basically:

💔 “The world’s messiest celestial breakup.”

The collision blasted huge chunks of molten Earth and Theia into space.
These pieces swirled around, cooled down, clumped together, and eventually formed our Moon.

So yes — the Moon is kind of a giant cosmic snowball made from leftovers of an ancient planetary crash.
