Description

Banjo Practice Board (IYKYK)

  • Simple practice board for playing right-hand banjo rolls without an instrument
  • Uses rubber bands for strings (can be stretched to provide a satisfactory note interval between strings)
    • If your rubber bands are too long, just tie a knot is them and position the knot in the back
  • Great for travel (especially airports) or anywhere where a full-size instrument isn't practical (e.g., hiking, camping, bicycling, etc.)
  • Standard spacing and bridge height (1 & 11/16th spacing and 5/8" height)

Prints well with PLA at standard settings, but of course you can add infill if needed to increase rigidity.

NOTE: this prints a bit too large for the A1 Mini. If there is a demand, I would be happy to try and make a modification. Also I used a “concentric” top layer (as I like the appearance) but that of course that is optional.

NOTE: Added a second version (files labeled “VERSION 2”) that has a thicker base, in order to address some minor flexing of the base due to the tension of the rubber bands. I frankly still prefer the first version (smaller, lighter, less bulky) but adding a second version for those who might prefer this option. Set to print with rectilinear infill at 30%, but of course you can vary this as you might prefer.

Would welcome comments and suggestions!
