Audi A3 8L Center Cap – 16” Wheel (PETG Test Version)
I designed this center cap for the original 16” wheel of my Audi A3 8L 1.8T 20V (2005).
Here in Brazil, this part is no longer available as an OEM replacement — only low-quality aftermarket versions can be found. After buying a few and losing others on the road, I decided to design my own version with a tighter fit and a few small visual tweaks to match my personal taste.
The first version was printed in PETG for durability testing under daily driving conditions.
For the Audi logo center disc, I applied:
Plastic primer
Matte black paint
Matte clear coat
I really liked the final look, especially keeping the outer ring with the natural textured finish from the print, which blends nicely with the wheel surface.
I plan to test the PETG version for a few months to evaluate thermal and mechanical performance. Once validated, I intend to print the final version in ABS or ASA for better long-term heat and UV resistance.
I hope this model helps you avoid driving around without a center cap 😉
