Description

Designed this double y-pod to be printed with minimal supports and to be a little beefy as since it holds water and has water flowing through it didn't want it cracking and leaking. This allows you to place two standard Gardyn plant cubes into single yPod slot, doubling the number of plants you can have on your tower. It is recommended to wait till plants root system is developed and long enough to extend all the way through the length of extended pod so it reaches the water inlet.

I've experimented with printing in PLA/PETG/PA-Nylon. All are functional. The most recent iteration shared here was printed in Nylon PA, and seems to have best results and strength. It is recommended to print it inverted (y down), and use manual supports painted only on the inner bridged area on left and right side of Y where it transitions from y to cylinder as seen in the photo and attached profile. The top of the cylinder tapers to a pointed funnel so prints fine without need for additional supports.

The spindle supports on the opening of the water inlet are designed for easy trimming and removal post print, or can probably be left on and it would work just fine that way too.
