Modular Pole Organizer

An adjustable modular system designed to practically organize the space around umbrellas, poles, vertical rods, camping supports, balcony structures, and boat components

The base opens sideways, allowing it to be mounted without having to slide the pole in from the top. A fully 3D printed screw allows for adjustable clamping to different diameters, while external dovetail mounts enable quick addition, removal, and replacement of accessories

The project includes two clamp sizes, both compatible with the same accessories

To properly close and lock the base, at least one accessory must be printed and inserted into the dovetail slot on the opening side of the clamp

Both bases use the same dovetail mount. All accessories can therefore be mounted interchangeably on either the Small or Large version

Modular System

Each base has multiple dovetail guides distributed along its body

This allows for:

• mounting multiple accessories on the same base
• quickly changing configurations
• orienting accessories on different sides of the pole
• using the same collection of accessories with both clamp sizes

Accessories are inserted by sliding them into the appropriate guides

• cleats, handrails, and vertical supports on boats
• workshops, garages, and workstations

The umbrella represents the primary use, but the system can be mounted on any vertical support compatible with the diameter of the bases

Recommended Material

For outdoor use, it is recommended to print the model in:

• PETG
• ASA
• ABS

PLA can be used for testing or indoor applications, but it is not recommended to leave it exposed to the sun or in very hot environments for extended periods

Recommended Print Settings

• Layer height: 0.20 mm
• Walls: at least 4
• Infill: 30–40%
• Supports: to be evaluated based on the orientation of individual components
• Recommended material: PETG

Preparation and Assembly

After printing, remove the supports and gently open the two halves of the clamp using both hands, until the hinge disengages

• Before final assembly, try inserting the tip of the screw into its dedicated slot on the movable part of the clamp. Once inserted, turn the screw a few turns to ensure that the coupling is free and correct, then remove it again

• With the clamp open, screw the screw into the main body until it is fully forward

• Insert the movable part of the clamp into the recess on the tip of the screw, ensuring it is correctly centered with respect to the main body

• Slowly unscrew the screw to pull back the movable part, checking that it engages correctly in the central guides and can slide without jamming

• Position the base around the pole or vertical support
• Close the clamp
• Insert at least one accessory into the dovetail on the opening side to properly lock the base
• Tighten the printed screw until a stable fixation is achieved
• Insert the other desired accessories into the remaining dovetail guides

It is not necessary to overtighten the screw. It is sufficient to eliminate play and ensure that the base cannot rotate on the pole

Warnings

• Always check the stability of the clamp before placing phones, glasses, or other objects
• Do not use the system to support heavy loads
• Actual compatibility may vary depending on the shape and surface of the pole
• During initial assembly, gently move the movable part and ensure it is correctly engaged in the guides before tightening the screw

Compatibility

All included accessories use the same dovetail profile and are compatible with both bases:

• Small: Ø20–32 mm
• Large: Ø30–50 mm
