Description

Hi Makers!  I'm a mechanical engineer & open source developer.  You'll find all my designs are inter-operable and have documentation at OpenLab Project.

Find my content on Youtube to learn about:

  • design for 3D printing
  • open source hardware
  • multidisciplinary engineering

A subdividing bin that fits neatly inside of the Plano boxes distributed in high volume, great for small hardware. Plano 3700 series and more. When using small parts, it's great to remove them without scooping out each part. First iteration is 16cc, adding mass at the base and making easier finger-reach.

As always: it's parametric, printable without supports, and exemplary design file for beginners to use as example.

Designed by David for OpenLabProject ► https://qr.net/openlabproject

2025.11 Update: Added STL file for deeper version (22 cubic cm) so we have 22 and 16cc variations.

Enhancing 1-finger access to parts

Equally splitting the slot width in Plano box

Floor of bin is lifted for easier reach of small part

floor is slanted so low-inventory shows amount

Bin can slip out of box and stand on the desk for projects
