Description

Print sideways (current rotation) with no supports.

These mounts are designed to mount cables, devices, etc to a wall using nylon cable ties. Screw the mount to the wall through the middle, pass the strap through the slots on both sides, and around whatever you are trying to mount. For larger items, use multiple mounts. I usually far prefer these over the ones that just stick on with double sided foam tape, as they stay put.

The commercial mounts of a similar design are generally nylon, and because these are likely to be printed in weaker materials, and because 3d printed parts are generally weaker to begin with, I tried to build these a little bit more rugged than the ones you'll find being sold.

Surprisingly strong, even printed in regular PLA. That said, when screwing them down, especially if using the tapered-head screws, torque them down with a reasonable amount of force. You can certainly crack them in half if you go crazy.

Also, keep your material limitations in mind. PLA might not be your best choice if you're putting them somewhere that gets very hot.

If you like this design, consider a tip or post a make!

Notes:

I haven't found layer height really matters too much - It's a functional part, not necessarily supposed to be pretty. The one in the supplied picture was done at 0.2, but I've printed these at 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3.

Increase walls for extra strength. The one in the picture I increased wall thickness in Cura to 3mm.

Do not change the rotation of this part. No supports necessary.
