Description

Straining Straw

The Straining Straw is a reusable 3D‑printed straw designed to keep unwanted chunks out of your drink. As shown in the photo, the straw features a bulb‑shaped straining tip at the bottom that rests inside the glass, allowing liquid to flow freely while blocking ice pieces, fruit chunks, herbs, or other solids.

The long, straight straw body keeps the drinking end clean and comfortable, while the widened strainer head stays submerged to do the filtering work where it matters most. This makes it ideal for drinks like iced beverages, infused water, smoothies, or any glass where you want smooth sips without surprises.

Design Highlights

  • Integrated rounded strainer head at the bottom of the straw
  • Small drain openings allow liquid through while stopping larger pieces
  • Straight straw profile fits standard drinking glasses
  • Reusable alternative to disposable strainers or mesh inserts
  • Simple, clean geometry suitable for everyday use

Printing Notes

  • Prints as a single piece
  • No supports required
  • Recommended materials: PLA, PETG, or food‑safe filament
  • Suggested layer height: 0.2 mm for a smooth surface
  • Print vertically for best strainer detail
