Model inspired by a larger, longer model to print. This one can be printed in PLA. It requires an 80mm wide and 25mm thick 12V computer fan. Four 25mm screws are needed to fix the fan to its support. Provide a continuous 12V power supply. Total printing time is 7h25 with BambuLab A1 in PLA. Warning: the fan must draw air through the center of the casing, and air must exit through the perforated sides. The suction is what will capture the mosquitoes.

Requires a BLAM! type mosquito bait to be placed at the bottom of the casing (under the fan.

Add a mosquito net tulle bag to be fixed onto the provided support (maximum depth 6-7 cm).

The lid should be positioned before the fan stops to prevent mosquitoes from escaping.

The roof is only necessary for outdoor use in rainy weather.

Place the trap about ten meters from the area to be protected.

It is necessary to leave the trap running with its bait for a few hours before seeing its effects.

Thank you for your feedback and improvement suggestions.

Modifications:

  • Added a deflector to prevent outgoing airflow from deterring mosquitoes from approaching the incoming airflow
  • Added a flap that closes the trap if the fan stops. The lid is modified to integrate this flap.
