Simson Schwalbe Tuning Air Filter System – More Airflow, Original Look
This self-developed filter system optimizes the air intake of your Simson Schwalbe (KR51/1 & KR51/2) without having to remove the original air silencer box. Perfect for anyone looking for an inconspicuous upgrade for original engines or lightly tuned sport cylinders
Get more performance for your Schwalbe! With this 3D-printed insert, you replace the old, small filter cartridge with a modern filter mat
The Advantages:
- Maximum Throughput: The restrictive original filter cartridge is completely eliminated
- Filter Foam System: Replaced by a large-surface filter mat for significantly higher airflow
- Plug & Play: Precisely designed for the original box
- Inconspicuous: No visible changes to the vehicle from the outside
Recommendation: I recommend using a high-quality two-stage filter mat (e.g. from TwinAir or Malossi) cut to size
Note: After installation, an adjustment of the main jet is required, as the mixture will lean out due to the increased air volume
Material & Printing Notes
To guarantee the best function and longevity, the system is designed for various materials:
- Outer Adapter: Must be printed from TPU. The flexibility ensures a perfect seal on the box and is resistant to vibrations
- Remaining Components: At least PETG is required here (ASA or ABS are also possible).
- Note: Do not use PLA, as it is not sufficiently temperature and fuel resistant in the engine area.
