Microfibre Window Washer

I was always annoyed by commercial window cleaners because you had to buy their special proprietary cloths, so I designed this washer to work with normal, inexpensive towels instead. I used a 25×25 cm microfibre towel, but other sizes will work too — just fold or cut the cloth to fit the clamp system.

I originally used a basic 25 mm wooden pole as the handle. Now the design also features an upper body with a 7/8-inch ACME thread, making it compatible with common mop poles. To increase versatility, I created four adapters:

• 20 mm → ACME 7/8"
• 25 mm → ACME 7/8"
• ACME 1" → ACME 7/8"
• ACME 3/4" → ACME 7/8"

This allows the washer to fit a wide range of handles. There is also a screw hole so you can secure the head tightly with a standard wood screw when using non-threaded poles. If you need a different shaft size, just ask — I can adjust the adapters!
