Description

This is the LUTZ puzzle. The goal is to put the four pieces (L, U, T, and Z, hence the name) into the base and remove them again via the gap in the bottom. There are many possible ways fit the four pieces into the base, but only one allows the pieces to be removed via the gap at the bottom. The solution is below.

 

I saw a wooden version of this puzzle at some point and redesigned it from memory. It was originally deigned by Dr. Volker Latussek.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Solution:

Put the pieces in like this

 

Remove the Z (or S piece as it's oriented here)

Move the T piece into the U (C in this orientation)

Rotate the U and T pieces together until the T piece can be removed

Removing the last two pieces is easy…
