Description
Design Concept:
Recent commitments have left me with limited time, however, a recent stroll by the river, observing fleeting clouds reflected in the still lake, combined with the movement of a hand fan in my possession sparked inspiration,
leading to the design of this fan
The fan blades are based on the frozen ripples of a wave, rendered in a pale blue material reminiscent of a thawing lake, translucent and shimmering with reflected light. The edges are treated to resemble broken waves, utilizing transparent materials with gradually apparent backlighting to create a dynamic visual ghosting effect during movement. The tactile feel is akin to stroking the surface of a spring stream, the graded refractive index of the light simulating the varying transparency of water at different depths. The cloud patterns are captured as ephemeral slices, creating a coexistence of the fluffy texture of clouds and the tearing effect of wind pressure.
