What if you have more than 1 printer and the printed parts do not fit when you try to assemble the model? Some of you have more than one printer, and to save time, you print on multiple 3D printers at the same time. However, by the time you're ready to assemble your parts, they don't fit together as expected. This mismatch could be due to several factors related to dimensions that can vary from printer to printer. Sorry guys, this one is not for you. I made an awesome subway maintenance diorama that would fit right into the diorama contest, but…. I am not going to share it here. Although I post my models as exclusives, and they should be protected, many of my designs have been stolen and sold without permission. Every week I chase down sellers that sell my stuff without permission. Although you can find them with Google lens and Etsy and Temu are very cooperative in removing these listings, I still find new listings that sell them. Some have sold over a 1000 items of the stolen model, and they are mad when I take them down. Thin walls may also become too fragile or unprintable. Check minimum feature sizes and increase wall thickness if needed. Scaling Up: Larger models may exaggerate imperfections or require more support material. Ensure details remain proportional and aren’t overly coarse. Strength and Structural Integrity: Scaling affects the model’s strength. For example, scaling down reduces cross-sectional area exponentially, making parts weaker. Adjust infill density (e.g., 15-20% for standard, higher for functional parts) or wall thickness to compensate. Scaling up may increase weight, requiring a stronger infill or additional supports to prevent warping or collapse. Support Structures: Scaling changes the geometry of overhangs and bridges.
