Description

Remix onto MakerWorld of devonjones's OpenForge 2.0 Cut Stone floor tiles!

Openlock triplex base combined with a small supporting block at the center so that the whole thing can be printed in one go - no more gluing the base and floor together!

My profiles use variable layer height to give the stone texture better detail at the cost of very slightly increased print time.

Each type of floor (1x1, 1x2, 1x3, 1x4, 2x2, 2x3, 2x4, 3x3, 3x4, 4x4) has its own print plate, make sure to pick the one you want!

All plates are A1 Mini compatible!

How to use:

  • Print the tiles you want to use.
  • Print some OpenLOCK clips.
  • Remove the small supporting bits from the tiles (each connection point has 2), I use a small cutter.
  • Connect the tiles together!

I'll slowly be going through devonjones' openforge tiles and remixing them with bases to MakerWorld, I'll prioritise those which I need most myself but if you have requests feel free to tell me.

OK, so I’m new to the whole open lock thing and I printed out a bunch of these 4 x 4 sections and then my little lock pieces wouldn’t fit in. I couldn’t figure it out forever but then found a YouTube video where I realized you’re supposed to pull the little jail cell bar supports included in this print. Once I did that, the lock clip fit right in perfectly. So I’m mainly just posting this in case someone in six months of now runs to the comment sections with the same confusion I did😂 I just used some little pliers and they just pop right out. And just in case this is helpful, you are popping out the little thin supports that are closest to the edge of the print and leaving the thicker ones that are slightly deeper into the base.

I feel like these floors have a smaller gap for the clips than the floor+walls do. My last 10 prints have been from this collection and all of the floors w/o walls don't like to clip easily. I wonder if the gap height could be increased a smidge?smidgen? other than that the floors w walls printed beautifully!

Replying to @yandalf :
hey @yandalf I've noticed this on the 1x1, 2x2, and 2x1 Stone floor tiles. They all look like my uploaded picture.

Hey, the floors were a millimeter lower than they should have been, I'm uploading the fixed profile now!

Chopped it up a little, printed the bottom in sandstone then the tiles in marble and glued a stamp dispenser on it. My wife audibly squee'd in delight when I gave it to her 😂

The remixed supports are absolutely fantastic and make it a super simple print process, removing the need for gluing. Amazing work. incredibly satisfying to remove. Unfortunately the top layer is rough. Some people are recommending printing the face down but on a textured build plate it'll be too uniform. i thought it was my printer, but other peoples prints have the same issue. i might try making a new profile. Still completely useable, and with some modelling compound and tufts these will still look great

This whole collection is awesome. I've printed out a whole bunch of them for my next D&D adventure. My only complaint is that these are all the "old style" wall-on-floors tiles. Printable Scenery (https://www.printablescenery.com/) who developed OpenLOCK has now moved to separate walls and floor tiles (one-sided "primary" walls for the exterior and "s-type" walls for the interior). I would LOVE to see separate walls and tiles, if we can get them, or at the very least a set of "s-type" walls.
