Description
Traditional Mortise and Tenon Four-Legged Splayed Stool | Detachable 3D Printed Solid Wood Style Small Stool
Design Introduction
This design replicates the classic structure of traditional Chinese carpentry's **four-legged splayed stool**, featuring a pure mortise and tenon joint design. It fits tightly without screws or glue, restoring the old carpenter's inclined plane bracing mechanical structure. The four legs splay outwards, naturally preventing tipping and ensuring stable load-bearing, while balancing traditional furniture aesthetics with the modular advantages of 3D printing
The entire piece is fully disassembled into individual parts, with each part sized to fit most household FDM 3D printers. It is freely scalable (Bambu Lab A1/P1/X1 full series can print the complete model without needing to cut parts). After printing, you can assemble it by hand simply by looking at the diagrams, making the assembly extremely easy

Recommended Printing Parameters
- Layer height: 0.2mm
- Walls: 3
- Infill: 15% (sufficient for daily seating; for higher load-bearing, increase to 30%)
- Filament: PLA/ABS are both suitable; wood-grain filament produces a texture closest to a solid wood small stool
Support: only a small amount of support on the inner sloped surfaces of the stool legs, which can optimize material usage
Usage Scenarios
- Practical household low stool, shoe-changing stool, small balcony stool, can stably seat adults of normal weight
- Chinese miniature furniture ornaments, model scene props, woodworking structure learning aids
Desktop display, DIY handmade finished product sharing ornaments
Design Highlights
- Splayed angled leg mechanical structure, physical self-locking, the more it is sat on, the tighter the mortise and tenon joints become, without loosening
- Fully rounded and chamfered edges, no sharp corners, safer for home use
- Modular disassembly, can be completely flattened for storage, saving space
- Precise mortise and tenon tolerance, tested to fit perfectly after printing, will not be too loose and fall apart, or too tight and difficult to assemble
- Overall retro and minimalist design, replicates the texture of traditional wooden stools when printed with wood-grain filament
