An online tool that generates a custom keychain as a 3MF file – featuring the real street map of any city, village, or address worldwide. Perfect as a gift for people attached to their hometown, a travel memory, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, or just for yourself! 💝

🛠️ How to: Create your own keychain

The model is generated entirely on my website – no need to download this file!

Step by step:

1️⃣ Open the website and navigate to "🔑 Keychain Map"

2️⃣ Pick your location

• Search bar on top: Type a city/address (e.g. "Brandenburg Gate Berlin")
• OR drag the map with your mouse to the desired spot
• The orange circle shows what area will appear on your keychain

3️⃣ Adjust settings

• Radius (100-400m): How much surroundings to include
• Size (20-50mm): Physical size of the keychain
• Layers: Toggle Buildings / Water / Parks
• Marker: Optional Heart/Star/House at exact position
• Backside Text: Name, date, coordinates on the back
• Hole Position: Top left, center, or right

4️⃣ Click Generate

• The 3MF is generated (about 10-30 seconds)
• Download starts automatically

5️⃣ Open in Bambu Studio

• The 3MF already contains all color layers as separate objects
• Each element can be assigned to an AMS color in the slicer
• Recommended color combination:
  • Base Front: White/Light Gray
  • Frame + Base Back: Black/Dark Gray
  • Streets: White
  • Water: Blue
  • Parks: Green
  • Buildings: Gray
  • Marker: Red
  • Text: Contrast color to the back

6️⃣ Print!

• Material: PLA (any brand)
• Layer Height: 0.2mm recommended
• Infill: 15% is plenty
• Supports: ❌ Not needed
• Print time: ~25-40 minutes per keychain

⚠️ Notes

🔧 The 3D preview is currently not working reliably – I'm working on it. The 3MF generation itself works perfectly though! If the preview doesn't load, just click "Generate Keychain 3MF" directly.

Nozzle: 0.4mm nozzle for best results. Finer details possible with 0.2mm.

🙏 An honest word at the end

Since the model is generated individually on my website, there is no ready-to-download 3MF here – everyone gets their own unique design. Unfortunately this also means I can't earn print credits through MakerWorld because no standard model gets printed.
