Description
Here is a project for my home that may also be useful to others. I designed some grilles with automatic closing to integrate with Home Assistant. The goal is to ventilate the laundry room when the dryer is running. Installation is fairly simple, although I used very tight tolerances for aesthetic reasons. If you experience any friction, increase the tolerances in the CAD (I’m also including the .stp files) or sand the edges and corners.
For the joints, you just need to use pieces of filament as pins. In the fan holder, you need to insert four M2.5 threaded inserts. I’ve also included the YAML file and the wiring diagram for the electrical connections. I recommend doing the soldering in the same orientation shown in the photos.
I’ve provided the CAD files so you can adapt the project to your needs (for example, my door is 16 mm thick). I’d love to see remixes of the project as well, to help support the community.
If you find this material useful and would like to, please consider the idea of buying me a coffee. ☕
