Description
Let me introduce you to my new creation.
It all started when I was looking to secure a wooden swing door in my van to prevent it from opening while traveling.
The advantage of this mechanism is that it's fully automatic: all you have to do is push the door!
To unlock, simply push the yellow lever a few millimeters and pull your door open, using only one hand.
If your door covers the furniture (for example, a kitchen cabinet door), you'll simply need to drill a hole opposite the yellow lever and use a pin to unlock it.
For assembly, you'll only need two 3x10mm screws.
I recommend pre-tensioning the spring before tightening the central screw: that is, don't align the hole in the end of the spring with the hole in the yellow lever. Move the spring hole down a few millimeters before tightening the pivot screw, and then insert the last screw.
This will have the advantage of gently pressing the lever into the lower position.
For installation in your closet, you'll only need six wood screws, the length depending on the structure. In my case, I used 4x20mm wood screws.
All parts are printed, even the spring
