Description

This is a set of four common microphone pickup patterns, representing side-address microphones having omnidirectional, bi-directional (figure-8), cardioid, and hypercardioid characteristics. The mics are 1:3  scale models of a very well known large diaphragm condenser.

It is my hope that these may be used to aid those wishing to better understand how to interpret polar plot diagrams as three dimensional gain patterns.  They might be useful to blind and low-vision students of audio engineering.

These require 6 mm diameter x 1.75 to 2 mm height round magnets glued into the pattern halves to join them around the microphones. Example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CZ71S57Y

To join the microphone halves, use 5 mm long pieces of 1.75 mm diameter filament as pins.  They will fit tightly into their sockets.  Mine did not require glue to hold together nicely.

I printed the items in the photo with black eSUN PLA+ and painted the mic portions.
