Description
TS101 Ring Replacement
I designed this model as a replacement for the original ring on the TS101, which cracked in a thin area after a year of use. My first intention was simply to make this model as close to the original as possible. It turned out to be very similar, but not 100%.
Ergonomic Improvements
Later, I wanted to improve the ergonomics a bit, so I made a second, elongated version and added curvature to the surfaces under the fingers.
This improves the grip and, in my opinion, makes working with the soldering iron more comfortable and enjoyable.
3D Printing Process and Recommendations
The model was successfully printed with the X1C using both 0.2 and 0.4 nozzles.
I used Bambu PLA and the standard profile with minimum layer height and maximum quality, with a few settings changes.
The model prints well in the position shown in the photo, at a 45° angle with a brim and minimal supports, but ensure it is well cooled.
I recommend setting the auxiliary fan to full speed and opening the door while printing.
Further Development and Feedback
I have also attached .STEP files in case you want to improve or change something to suit your needs.
I think there is still room for improvement, so suggestions and feedback are always welcome.
