So many people are getting into 3D printing these days, and it’s great to see. A lot of people start out printing little trinkets and toys — and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. But it’s also worth remembering that a 3D printer can open the door to learning and creating so much more. 3D printing can teach you about: Bearings Gears Motors PCB placement Switches Sensors …and countless other things along the way. Start small, experiment, make mistakes, and keep going. Every project teaches you something new. This is a turntable my 12-year-old son has been working on. It’s nearly finished — he’s just making the gears and the top for it now. He did almost all of it himself with very little help from me.
