Dragon Ring (3D Printed Version) Full Description
I. Key Features
- Realistic Western Dragon Head Integrated Design The ring body and dragon head are integrally designed, complete with sharp horns, scale textures, and fang facial details, highlighting a dark Chinese-style and punk accessory aesthetic, with extremely high individual recognition.
- Integrated Closed-Loop Ring Structure The ring body is integrally formed with uniform wall thickness and stable stress distribution. The inner diameter can be precisely scaled according to finger size, ensuring a snug fit and resistance to deformation and breakage.
- Fine Embossed Texture Details Replicating sculpted details such as dragon scales, facial wrinkles, fangs, and sharp horns, 3D print layer lines enhance the carved texture, and can be polished, painted, and colored afterward to achieve metal or distressed effects.
- Multi-Purpose, Multi-Functional Design Primarily intended as a finger ring, it can also be used as a keychain ornament, desktop mini figurine, cultural and creative accessory, or pendant.
- Print-Optimized Model Only a small overhang exists at the tip of the dragon's horns, requiring only partial support. The ring body has no overhangs, resulting in a high success rate for FDM printers.
- Two Print Material Options PLA is cost-effective, suitable for figurines or short-term accessories; PETG is tougher, more resistant to bending and sweat corrosion, making it more durable for long-term wear.
II. Use Cases & Target Audience
1. Wearing Use
Daily wear rings, trendy accessories, men's personalized rings, cosplay props. Target Audience: Trendsetters, punk style enthusiasts, cultural artifact collectors, custom gift seekers
2. Decorative Use
Desktop figurines, keychain accessories, necklace pendants, cultural and creative collectibles, custom gift items
3. Post-Processing Applications
Can be used as a prototype for resin casting or a master mold for casting copper and silver jewelry.
III. 3D Print Settings (General Parameters for 0.4mm Standard nozzle)
Plan: PLA (Low cost, for display or short-term wear)
- Layer height: 0.15mm (prioritizing fine details like scales and dragon head; 0.2mm layer height is optional for faster printing)
- Wall thickness / Perimeters: 3‑4 (wall thickness ≥1.2mm, to enhance the ring's tensile strength and prevent breakage)
- Infill density: 15% honeycomb infill, balancing structural strength and material savings
- Nozzle temperature: 200–210℃
- Bed temperature: First layer 65℃, subsequent layers 60℃, to prevent ring warping
- Print speed: Outer wall 35mm/s, inner infill 55mm/s
- Supports: Only partial supports are needed for the sharp tips of the dragon horns, the ring body itself requires no supports
- Bottom thickness: 1.2mm, top shell thickness: 1.0mm
- Limitations: Not resistant to long-term sweat immersion, prone to deformation in high-temperature environments, not suitable for long-term personal wear
Additional Printing Tips
- Size scaling reference: Standard ring inner diameter 18‑22mm; for pendant versions, scale up to 30‑45mm; for figurine versions, scale up to 60‑80mm
- Post-processing optimization: After printing, use fine sandpaper to gradually polish the inner and outer surfaces. Matte paint or metallic paint can be sprayed, or polished to create imitation silver or bronze effects
- Maintenance instructions: PETG versions can be wiped clean with water; PLA versions should avoid prolonged contact with sweat, direct sunlight, and high-temperature environments
